The Uber Cup, also called the World Team Championships for Women, is a major international badminton competition contested by women's national badminton teams. South Korea made history by ending China's 12-year hold on the Uber Cup with a 3-1 victory at Kuala Lumpur's Putra Stadium on May 15, 2010.

Steve Redgrave won his first Olympic gold medal in rowing at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics (coxed four event). He went on to win gold at five consecutive Olympics. London hosted in 1908, 1948, and 2012. Beijing hosted in 2008. 'Los Angels' has a typo (should be 'Los Angeles') but is the correct city.

London was the host city for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.
