Sachin Tendulkar scored 15 runs in his very first Test innings on debut against Pakistan in Karachi in 1989. He was just 16 years old at the time, facing a formidable Pakistani bowling attack including Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis.

Sachin Tendulkar was dismissed for a duck (0 runs) in his first ODI match against Pakistan in Gujranwala in 1989. He faced just 2 balls before being caught off the bowling of Waqar Younis. Many legendary batsmen have started their ODI careers with a duck.

Sachin Tendulkar made his international debut for India at the age of 16 in 1989 against Pakistan. He remains one of the youngest players ever to debut in international cricket, making his Test debut just after turning 16.

Kapil Dev retired with 434 Test wickets, which was a world record at the time of his retirement in 1994. He held this record for several years before being surpassed by Courtney Walsh. Kapil was India's greatest fast bowler and a genuine all-rounder.

Virender Sehwag became the first Indian to score a triple century (300+ runs) in Test cricket. He achieved this feat twice - 319 against South Africa in Chennai (2008) and 309 against Sri Lanka in Mumbai (2009-10). Before him, no Indian batsman had reached the 300-run mark in a single Test innings. His aggressive batting style and high strike rate made these innings particularly memorable.

Mohammad Azharuddin scored centuries in his first three Test matches (100 vs England in 1985, 105* vs England in 1985, and 199 vs Sri Lanka in 1986). This remains a unique record in Test cricket history. Neither Tendulkar, Ganguly, nor Gavaskar achieved this feat.

MS Dhoni has maintained an ODI batting average above 50 throughout his career, which is exceptional for a wicketkeeper-batsman with over 2000 runs. While Tendulkar has more runs, his average is lower. Sehwag and Gambhir also have averages in the 40s. Dhoni's finishing ability and high average make him stand out.

Sourav Ganguly scored 7,212 runs in Test cricket, which is less than 10,000 runs. Sachin Tendulkar scored 15,921 runs, Rahul Dravid scored 13,288 runs, and Sunil Gavaskar scored 10,122 runs - all three crossed the 10,000-run mark in Test cricket.

Kapil Dev, the legendary Indian cricketer and World Cup-winning captain, was appointed as an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army.
