Harbhajan Singh took a hat-trick against Australia at Kolkata in 2001. This was India's first Test hat-trick. Irfan Pathan took a hat-trick later (against Pakistan in 2006), and Chetan Sharma took one in ODIs (1987 World Cup), not Tests.

Harbhajan Singh has 6 five-wicket hauls in ODIs, the most by any Indian bowler. This is a specialized record requiring both skill and favorable match conditions. Ganguly was a part-time bowler, Nehra had fewer ODI matches, and Kumble focused more on Tests.

Irfan Pathan took his hat-trick against Pakistan in the 2006 Karachi Test, dismissing Salman Butt, Younis Khan, and Mohammed Yousuf in three consecutive deliveries. This made him the first Indian bowler to take a hat-trick in Test cricket after nearly 50 years.

Anil Kumble broke the massive 576-run partnership between Roshan Mahanama (225) and Sanath Jayasuriya (340) in the 1997 Colombo Test match. This was part of the record-breaking 952/6 declared by Sri Lanka, the highest team total in Test cricket history at that time. Kumble ended up taking 5 wickets in that innings. Anil Kumble is the only Indian bowler to take more than 100 wickets against a single team in Test cricket - he took 111 wickets against England in 20 Tests.
