Geoffrey Boycott faced the first ball in the first-ever ODI match between England and Australia on January 5, 1971, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. This match was played after a Test match was washed out, and became the first official ODI in cricket history.

Ravi Shastri hit 6 sixes in 6 balls off Tilak Raj's bowling in a Ranji Trophy match between Bombay and Baroda in 1984-85. This equaled Sir Garfield Sobers' record of 6 sixes in an over. Rakesh Patel and Chetan Sharma were also Indian pace bowlers but not the correct answer.

Javed Miandad hit the famous last-ball six off Chetan Sharma's bowling in the final of the 1986 Austral-Asia Cup at Sharjah.
