A "skyer" in cricket is a mistimed shot that goes almost straight up, giving fielders time to position for a catch. The ball travels high but not far, making it an easy catch. It's a specific cricket term for this type of accidental lofted shot.

Grafting refers to batting defensively with extreme caution, prioritizing survival over scoring. It's typically used in difficult batting conditions (like a deteriorating pitch or hostile bowling) where the main objective is simply to avoid getting out while preserving wickets for later.

Nurdling is the art of gently nudging the ball into vacant areas for easy runs, rather than playing aggressive shots. It's also called 'milking the bowling' - the batsman patiently picks up singles and twos by placing the ball carefully rather than trying to hit boundaries.
