Goa became India's 25th state on 30 May 1987, ending its status as a Union Territory since 1961 when it was liberated from Portuguese rule. The statehood demand reflected local aspirations for greater autonomy and recognition of Goa's distinct cultural and linguistic identity within the Indian federation.

Chhattisgarh was formed on November 1, 2000, when it was carved out of Madhya Pradesh as the 26th state of India. This was part of the 2000 reorganization that also created Uttarakhand and Jharkhand.

The Reserve Bank of India was established on April 1, 1935, in accordance with the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. It was originally established as a private shareholders' bank and was later nationalized on January 1, 1949.
