AR Rahman received the Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus) award for Best Music Director at the National Film Awards for his debut film Roja (1992). This marked his first major national recognition.

AR Rahman was nominated for the Asian Film Award for Best Composer for his work in Jodhaa Akbar (2008). His grand orchestral score for this historical epic received international acclaim.

S.A. Rajkumar composed the music for the Tamil film Priyamanavale (2000) starring Vijay and Shriya Saran. This was a successful soundtrack that included popular songs like 'Vaadi Vaadi' and 'Mellathai Thottathu'. Sirpi, Mani Sharma, and Bharadwaj are other prominent Tamil music directors but not for this film.

KJ Yesudas began his professional playback singing career in the 1962 Malayalam film 'Kaalpadukal'. This marked the beginning of his legendary journey in playback singing across multiple Indian languages, though he became most prominent in Malayalam and Tamil cinema.

K.S. Chithra holds the record for the most National Film Awards in the Best Female Playback Singer category. She has won the award six times (1987, 1989, 1990, 1997, 2005, 2023). While P. Susheela and Lata Mangeshkar are legendary playback singers with many awards, K.S. Chithra's six awards in this specific category make her the record holder.

Aalavandhan (2001) is a Tamil film directed by Suresh Krissna, starring Kamal Haasan in a dual role. The music director was Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, making this their Tamil debut. A.R. Rahman composed for many Kamal Haasan films but not Aalavandhan. Yuvan Shankar Raja, Vishal-Shekhar were not involved in this project.

Kasi (2001) is a Tamil film directed by P.V. Pavithran starring Vikram in the lead role. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja, one of the most prolific music directors in Indian cinema. Karthick Raja is Ilaiyaraaja's son but did not compose for this film. Sirpi and S.A. Rajkumar are other Tamil composers not associated with Kasi.

The song 'Tera Sarafa Kaisa Hai' from Welcome is indeed sung by Anand Raj Anand. He composed and performed this track.

The song 'Zindagi Me Koi Kabhi Aaye Na Rabba' from Musafir (2004) is sung by Richa Sharma. This track is from the Anand Raj Anand composed soundtrack.

Rashid Ali sang the popular song 'Kabhi Kabhi Aditi' from the 2008 Bollywood film 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na'. The song became a chart-topper and launched Rashid Ali's career in Hindi playback singing. Zubin Garg, Benny Dayal, and Sonu Nigam are all established singers but didn't sing this particular track.

Benny Dayal sang 'Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gayi' from the 2008 film 'Ghajini', which became one of his breakthrough hits. The romantic ballad showcased Benny's versatile vocal range. Shafaqat Ali, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Shaan are renowned playback singers but weren't the voices behind this particular Ghajini track.

The song 'Na Na Na Re' is from the 1975 film 'Sholay', starring Amitabh Bachchan. This iconic song was picturized on Amitabh Bachchan and is one of the memorable dance numbers from the film. Shaan (1980), Mrityudaata (1997), and Zanjeer (1973) are other Amitabh films but don't feature this song.

Aamir Khan sang "Aati Kya Khandala" in the 1998 film Ghulam, which marked his debut as a playback singer. Despite not being a trained singer, his rendition became extremely popular and is still remembered today. The other songs listed are from films he acted in but did not sing.
