Agartala is the capital of Tripura and its largest city. It has been the administrative center since the princely state era and continued after Tripura's accession to India. Aizwal is the capital of Mizoram, Gangtok of Sikkim, and Mumbai of Maharashtra - all are capitals but of different states.
