Important National and International Days

World AIDS Day is observed annually on December 1st since 1988, designated by the World Health Organization to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. It was the first global health day dedicated to a specific disease. The other dates (December 10, 21, 30) are not associated with HIV/AIDS awareness.

World Sick Day is observed on February 11th each year. This day raises awareness about the importance of health and well-being globally. The other dates listed (January 14, March 17, April 14) are not associated with this particular observance.

World Red Cross Day is observed on May 8 every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross and recipient of the first Nobel Peace Prize.

World Telecommunication Day is observed on May 17 to commemorate the founding of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in 1865. The day aims to raise global awareness about the importance of communication technology and its role in bridging the digital divide.

India's National Sports Day is celebrated on August 29 to mark the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand (born 1908). He is considered one of the greatest hockey players of all time. December dates relate to other events (Navy Day, Minority Rights Day, Kisan Diwas).

National Science Day is celebrated on February 28th every year to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman in 1928. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930 for this discovery, which demonstrated the scattering of light.

World Environmental Day is celeberated on June 5.

September 16 is World Ozone Day. 

The 26^th of September is World Contraception Day, devoted to raising awareness and improving education about sexual and reproductive health, with a vision of a world where every pregnancy is wanted.

World Water Day is observed annually on March 22nd to raise awareness about the importance of freshwater and advocate for sustainable water management. The United Nations designated this date in 1993 to highlight water-related issues globally.

World AIDS Day is observed on December 1st each year. It was established by the WHO in 1988 to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and mourn those who have died from the disease. The other dates are incorrect - December 9th, November 30th, October 24th, and December 30th are not associated with World AIDS Day.

International Women's Day is observed globally on March 8 every year since 1913. The day commemorates the movement for women's rights and suffrage. February 14 is Valentine's Day, May 10 is not a major international observance, and October 2 is Gandhi Jayanti (International Day of Non-Violence).

World Heritage Day (International Day for Monuments and Sites) is observed annually on April 18. Established by UNESCO in 1982, this day raises awareness about cultural heritage conservation. The date coincides with the founding of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in 1982.

The United Nations General Assembly established the International Day of Peace in 1981 (Resolution 36/67), to be observed annually on September 21st. The day promotes peace and non-violence through ceasefires and awareness campaigns worldwide. Option A (1st September) is close but incorrect, while options B and D are not the official UN date.

December 10th is observed annually as Human Rights Day worldwide, commemorating the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the UN General Assembly in 1948.
