Gasoline or petrol is a derivative product of petroleum distillation. The ethanol or ethyl alcohol is produced from fermentation and distillation of grains e.g., corn, barley, wheat. When gasoline is blended with ethanol it becomes Gasohol, the percentage is 90 and 10 respectively. It was first used in Nebraska 1940. It is used as an alternative fuel. Hence the first use of Gasohol was in the 1940s.

Mendel’s work was rediscovered by Hugo de Vries, T.Correns, and Carl Correns independently in 1900.
