Australia won the 2003 Cricket World Cup, defeating India in the final at Johannesburg. This victory made Australia the first team to win three consecutive World Cups (1999, 2003, 2007). Sri Lanka, West Indies, and New Zealand were eliminated in earlier stages.

Australia won the 2007 Cricket World Cup by defeating Sri Lanka in the final in Bridgetown, Barbados. This was Australia's third consecutive World Cup victory, completing a hat-trick of titles (1999, 2003, 2007). India and South Africa were eliminated in earlier rounds.

Sri Lanka was the first current Test-playing nation to host the ICC Champions Trophy (also called ICC Mini World Cup) in 2002, co-hosting with Kenya. The 1998 edition was in Bangladesh (not a Test nation then), and the 2000 edition was in Kenya (not a Test nation).

Sri Lanka won by default against India in the 1996 World Cup semi-final when the match was awarded to them after India refused to continue play following crowd disturbances at Eden Gardens. The Windies and South Africa have never won default victories over India in World Cups.

The first ODI in cricket history was played on 5 January 1971 between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. This match was arranged after the first three days of a Test match were rained out, leading to the innovation of the one-day format.

In ODI cricket history, both New Zealand and England have been dismissed for exactly 70 runs against Australia, making this the lowest team totals achieved against them. New Zealand scored 70 in Adelaide (1986), and England also scored 70 in Sydney (1979).

Australia holds the World Cup record for most consecutive wins with 25 victories in a row spanning from the 1999 World Cup until the 2011 World Cup. This remarkable streak included winning the 2003 and 2007 World Cups undefeated.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy was first contested in 1996-97 during India's tour of Australia. It was named after Allan Border and Sunil Gavaskar to honor their contributions to cricket. The inaugural series was won by India 1-0, with Sachin Tendulkar scoring a memorable century in the Delhi Test.

Sachin Tendulkar made his Test debut in 1989 against Pakistan at Karachi. He was 16 years old. Option C has the correct country but wrong year - 1988 is before his actual Test debut.

Cricket was included in the 1900 Paris Olympics, making it the only Summer Games to feature the sport. The tournament was very brief with only two matches played. 1916 was cancelled due to World War I, while 1956 and 1920 did not include cricket.

Australia is the only team to have won the ICC Champions Trophy twice, in 2006 and 2009. India won once in 2002, while New Zealand and West Indies have never won the tournament. The Champions Trophy was discontinued after 2017.

Sachin Tendulkar scored his first ODI century (110 not out) against Australia on September 9, 1994, at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo during the Singer World Series. This came in his 79th ODI match, breaking a long drought of 76 innings without a century.
