The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is a Test cricket series played between India and Australia. India won the 2008 series 2-0, with significant performances from players like Sachin Tendulkar and the Indian bowling attack.

India won the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, defeating Pakistan in the final. This victory marked the beginning of India's dominance in T20 cricket under MS Dhoni's captaincy.

Australia scored 417 runs against India in the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup quarter-final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, breaking India's previous record of 413 runs against Bermuda in the 2007 World Cup. This remains the highest team total in World Cup history. The record stood until Australia themselves surpassed it with 418 runs against Afghanistan in the 2023 World Cup.

Australia lifted the Under-19 Cricket World Cup beating Pakistan by 25 runs in the final played at, Lincoln, New Zealand on February 6, 2010. Batting first Australia scored 207 runs in 50 overs while Pakistan were bowled out for 182 in 46.4 overs.

The Asia Cup Hockey 2007 finals were played between South Korea and India, with South Korea emerging victorious. This tournament was part of the Asian Hockey Federation's calendar and showcased the competitive level of field hockey in Asia. South Korea's strong hockey program consistently performs well in international competitions.

Kenya hosted the final of the Afro-Asia Cup 2008, a cricket tournament featuring teams from Africa and Asia. The final was held in Nairobi in June 2008 between Asia XI and Africa XI. This was the second edition of the tournament, intended to foster cricket development and cooperation between the two continents.

Chetan Sharma became the first Indian to take a hat-trick in World Cup history, achieving this feat against New Zealand in the 1987 World Cup. He dismissed three New Zealand batsmen in consecutive deliveries. England, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe were not the opponents for this historic achievement.

The first three Cricket World Cups (1975, 1979, and 1983) were officially known as the Prudential Cup. It was named after its primary sponsor, the Prudential Assurance Company.

The 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup was co-hosted by India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Although Pakistan was originally part of the four-nation hosting group, its games were relocated due to security concerns, but the tournament is historically associated with the 2011 bid by these Asian nations.

Bangladesh completed a 4-0 sweep over New Zealand on 16 Oct 2010.

The 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup was co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya. It was the first time the tournament was held on the African continent.
