The Boeing 747, particularly the 747-400 variant, has a maximum fuel capacity of approximately 57,285 gallons, making it one of the largest fuel-capacity commercial airliners ever built. The 767 is much smaller, while 646 and 647 are not actual Boeing models.

Trans European Airways (TEA) was a Belgian charter airline that operated the first Airbus A300B1 aircraft (F-WZAB/OO-TEA) in revenue service for over 25 years from 1974 to 1999. Only two A300B1s were built - one was a prototype test aircraft, and the other entered service with TEA before the airline ceased operations in the 1990s.

FedEx took delivery of the last A300 aircraft to be built in 2007. The A300 production ended after over 30 years, with FedEx being a major operator and the final recipient of the type. The delivery marked the conclusion of the A300 program, which began in the early 1970s as Airbus's first aircraft.

Airbus inaugurated its first assembly line outside of Europe in Tianjin, People's Republic of China, in September 2008. This was a joint venture with Chinese partners and marked Airbus's expansion into manufacturing in Asia. The facility produces A320 family aircraft for the Chinese and Asian markets.

Emirates had ordered the largest number of A380 aircraft as of July 2009. The Dubai-based carrier was the launch customer for the A380 and placed substantial orders for the superjumbo to build their hub-and-spoke model through Dubai. Their orders far exceeded those of other airlines like Singapore Airlines, Qantas, or Air France.

US Airways was the world's largest operator of A320 family aircraft as of May 2009. The American airline (which later merged with American Airlines) operated a substantial fleet of A319, A320, and A321 aircraft, making them the largest operator of this Airbus single-aisle family at that time. EasyJet and Air France were also significant operators but had fewer aircraft.

Finkenwerder Airport (located in Hamburg, Germany) is situated on the grounds of an Airbus plant. It serves the Airbus manufacturing facility in Hamburg-Finkenwerder, where major aircraft components are assembled and finished. This is a specialized airport for Airbus operations, not a major commercial passenger airport like Frankfurt or Munich.
