Antonyms

Breviloquence means a brief and pertinent mode of speaking. Periphrasis means the use of many words where one or a few would do; roundabout way of speaking or writing; circumlocution. Loquacious means very talkative; fond of talking; which will not serve as the antonym for Breviloquence as it highlights the intensity, and our expectation is mode of speech. Hence, (E) is the answer.

Farcical means of, or having the nature of, a farce; absurd, ridiculous. Pensive means thinking deeply or seriously, often of sad or melancholy things. Hence, (B) is the answer.

Annihilate means to destroy completely; put out of existence; demolish i.e. destruction. Contrive means  to construct skillfully or ingeniously; fabricate i.e. construction; hence the antonym for annihilate. Hence, (E) is the answer.

Demulcent as an adjective means soothing; and as a noun is a medicine or ointment that soothes irritated mucous membrane. Rawness is irritation, soreness, inflammation (noun form of raw-adjective), hence contrary to demulcent. Hence, (C) is the answer.                      

Éclat means brilliant display or effect. Lethe means oblivion; forgetfulness. Hence, (A) is the answer. 

Languid means drooping, weak; listless, lethargic, exuberant means characterized by good health and high spirits; full of life; uninhibited Mélange is mixture, blend. Hence, (D) is the answer.

Fracas means a noisy fight or loud quarrel; brawl. Chime means harmony; agreement. Hence, (E) is the answer.

Impetuous is moving with great force or violence; having great impetus; rushing; furious discreet is careful about what one says or does; prudent; esp., keeping silent or preserving confidences when necessary; cautious, hence the antonym of impetuous. Hence, (A) is the answer.

Sequester means to set off or apart; separate. Entwine means to twine, weave, or twist together or around. Hence, (B) is the answer.

Dissension is a difference of opinion; disagreement or, esp., violent quarreling or wrangling. Arbitration is mediation, negotiation, compromise, adjustment. Hence, (A) is the answer.

Carnal is in or of the flesh; bodily; material or worldly, not spiritual. Platonic is idealistic, visionary, or impractical; i.e. spiritual. Hence, (B) is the answer.

Dalliance means  the deliberate act of wasting time instead of working. Alacrity means eager willingness or readiness, often manifested by quick, lively action. Hence, (A) is the answer.

Pontifical is having to do with a pontifex or a high priest i.e. based on an assumption of absolute truth. Whimsical is fanciful. Hence, (B) is the answer.

Absolve means to pronounce free from guilt or blame; acquit. Remonstrate means protest, complaint, rebuke, reproach. Hence, (2) is the answer.

Obviate means to anticipate and dispose of effectively; render unnecessary. Acquiesce is to agree or consent quietly without protest, but without enthusiasm. Hence, (4) is the answer.
