 Grovel means to worship in an overdone manner, usually as way of pleading and begging. Genuflecting is similar in that when someone genuflects, they get on their knees in respect and worship (i.e. The worshippers placed their heads at the feet of the idol in genuflection to show their devotion). Kowtow is similar in meaning to grovel and ligneous has to do with wood. Loathe is correct because when someone loathes something, they woud generally not grovel.

'Unimportant' is antonym of 'fundamental'.

Admire means to praise. Condemn means to criticise.
