Agnimitra was indeed a king of the Sunga dynasty, as portrayed in Kalidasa's drama Malavikagnimitra. He was the son of Pushyamitra Sunga, the founder of the Sunga dynasty. The Maurya dynasty came before the Sungas. The Saka dynasty was a Central Asian dynasty that ruled parts of India much later. The Gupta dynasty came several centuries after the Sungas. Kalidasa wrote during the Gupta period but wrote about the earlier Sunga period.
