Traditional Indian Games

Shot Put is not a traditional Indian game, it is a track and field event in which athletes throw a heavy metal ball as far as possible.

In Kabaddi, the raider is the player who crosses the midline and tries to tag as many opposing team's players as possible before returning to their own side.

Gilli Danda is a traditional Indian game played with a wooden stick (danda) and a small wooden peg (gilli). The objective is to hit the gilli with the danda and send it as far as possible.

Carrom is a traditional Indian game played on a square board with a small wooden ball and wooden blocks (carrom men). The objective is to flick the ball and knock the carrom men into the pockets at the corners of the board.

In Kho Kho, each team has 9 players, with 8 players on the field and one player as a substitute.

Ludo is a traditional Indian game played on a board with two or four players. The objective is to move all of one's pieces around the board and into the home square before the other players.

Tambola, also known as Housie, is a traditional Indian game where players try to guess the numbers called out by the caller and mark them on their tickets. The first player to mark all the numbers on their ticket wins.

In Kabaddi, the raiding zone is the area where the raider tries to tag the opposing team's players. It is located in the center of the court.

Lattu is a traditional Indian game where players try to balance a spinning top on a string. The objective is to keep the top spinning for as long as possible.

Ring Toss is a traditional Indian game where players try to throw a small ring onto a peg. The objective is to score points by getting the ring onto the peg.

In Kabaddi, the defender is the player who tries to prevent the raider from tagging their team's players.

Hide and Seek is a traditional Indian game where players try to guess the location of a hidden object. One player hides the object while the other players search for it.

Snakes and Ladders is a traditional Indian game where players try to move their pieces from one end of the board to the other. The objective is to be the first player to reach the end square.

In Kabaddi, a team scores 1 point for each successful raid, where the raider tags at least one opposing team's player and returns to their own side.

Jenga is a traditional Indian game where players try to knock down a pyramid of wooden blocks with a small wooden ball. The objective is to be the last player to remove a block without causing the pyramid to collapse.
