Bangalore, also known as Bengaluru, is widely recognized as the "Silicon Valley of India" due to its concentration of high-tech companies and startups, particularly in the information technology sector.

Dr. Vikram Sarabhai is widely regarded as the "Father of the Indian Computer Revolution" for his pioneering efforts in establishing the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), which played a crucial role in advancing computing research and education in India.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore is renowned for its contributions to the development of the first Indian supercomputer, Param. A team led by Prof. V. Rajaraman and Prof. C.R. Muthukrishnan at IISc played a pivotal role in this achievement.
