SourceQualifier transformations cannot directly join heterogeneous sources. Each source type requires its own SourceQualifier. To join heterogeneous sources, use separate SourceQualifiers followed by a Joiner transformation.

Update Strategy transformation provides four row operations: DD_INSERT (for inserts), DD_UPDATE (for updates), DD_DELETE (for deletes), and DD_REJECT (to reject rows). These determine how rows are treated in the target.

Mapplets can be nested within other mapplets in Informatica. This allows building reusable transformation components that themselves contain other mapplets, creating modular hierarchical designs.

In Cognos Framework Manager, relationships and joins must be properly defined at the model level to ensure reports run correctly. Framework Manager creates the semantic layer that all reporting tools (Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio) depend on for accurate data retrieval and query generation.

In Cognos Report Studio, blocks serve as container objects used to group and organize other report elements, providing layout structure and visual separation. They are fundamental to report design for creating logical sections and controlling object placement.

A Package in Cognos Framework Manager is a subset of the model that exposes specific portions of the complete model to report authors. Packages provide security, simplify complexity, and allow different user groups to see only relevant model elements.

In Cognos Report Studio, object alignment properties are accessed and modified through the Page area's alignment tools. The Page area provides the interface for precise positioning, alignment distribution, and spacing adjustments of report objects during design.

A data warehouse is a centralized repository designed specifically for query, analysis, and decision-making.
