SAP Manufacturing and Production Processes

Process Order confirmation for FG (Finished Goods) in the Kraft environment is not typically done using COR6N. While COR6N is a valid SAP transaction, the Kraft module uses specific confirmation transactions tailored to its industry processes, not the generic COR6N.

Kraft uses browser-based PI sheets (Process Instruction sheets) in their SAP environment, which are accessed via web browsers rather than through ABAP-based GUI interfaces. Browser-based PI sheets allow for easier accessibility and integration with modern web technologies. ABAP-based PI sheets are an older technology requiring SAP GUI access.

Phantom materials are virtual BOM structures used for planning purposes but don't exist as physical items, so they don't require a standard procurement type like E (internal production), F (external procurement), or X (phantom). The procurement type field is intentionally left blank or marked as 'Not maintained' for phantom assemblies since they're exploded into their components during MRP run rather than procured directly.

In Kraft's MTI (Make-To-Inventory) process, both regular Process Orders and Rework Process Orders are used. Process Orders handle standard production while Rework Process Orders manage materials that need reprocessing due to quality issues. Production orders alone are insufficient as they don't cover the rework scenario.

Kraft releases Process Orders specifically every Wednesday as part of their production planning cycle. This scheduled release allows for coordination with weekly production schedules and resource planning. Neither daily, twice weekly, nor Friday releases match Kraft's established practice.

Goods Issue (GI) can be triggered through three methods: manual entry via PI sheet for explicit control, automatic backflushing through standard SAP configuration for bulk goods movements, and automatic interfaces from sub-systems (like MES or LIMS) for integrated automation. All three methods are valid depending on the production scenario.

The Line Hours Calculation Program generates process message Z_PHCONS, which is a custom message type specific to Kraft's SAP environment for phantom consumption processing. Z_PROD relates to production, Z_MCHRS to man hours, and Z_CONS is a general consumption message - none of these match the line hours program output.

Transaction code QDP1 is used to create sampling schemes in SAP Quality Management module. QDB1 is for inspection methods, QDV1 for sampling procedures, and QDR1 for characteristic creation - none of these handle sampling schemes which define the sampling strategy.

Kraft uses task list usage Z1 for creating inspection plans for both raw materials and packaging materials. Usage indicators determine how task lists can be used (production, quality, etc.). Z2, Z3, and Z4 are other usage indicators but not the ones Kraft employs for RM/PM inspection planning.

Inspection type Z011 is used for stock-relevant inspection lots in Raw Material and Packaging Material at Kraft. Z030 and Z040 are other custom inspection types but for different scenarios. Z010 is typically used for non-stock-relevant inspections or other purposes.

Inspection type Z080 is specifically used for Bulk Material inspections with stock correction functionality at Kraft. This type allows for inventory adjustments based on inspection results. Z010 and Z011 are standard RM/PM types without stock correction, while Z090 serves another purpose.

Kraft uses only Schedule Margin Key 000 in their template, which has zero float before production (0), zero float after production (0), and zero opening period (0). This tight scheduling approach means orders are released exactly when needed without buffers. Keys 001, 002, and 003 all include float values and are not used.

Table ZPP_PO_REWORK is used to calculate Net Yield in Kraft's SAP environment. This custom table tracks rework data including quantities and times, which is essential for calculating actual yield after accounting for reworked materials. ZPP_PO_DATES stores date information, ZPP_PO_LINES stores line data, and neither contains the rework data needed for yield calculation.

Backflush in SAP PP occurs when the Net Yield program has executed. This program calculates actual quantities consumed based on production confirmation and posts the goods movements automatically to inventory. The Line Hours job and DVL program are separate preprocessing steps that must complete before backflush can run, but they do not trigger it themselves.

Kraft uses Change Numbers (SAP Engineering Change Management) to control revisions to Master Recipes. This ensures traceability of recipe formulation changes over time. Process Orders are production execution documents created from recipes; they do not directly use change numbers. Routing also uses change management but is a separate object from recipes.
