Sociology of Political Sociology

The sociology of political sociology is a subfield of sociology that examines the relationship between politics and society. It explores how political institutions shape social life, how social factors influence political behavior, and how political power is distributed and exercised in society.

Marxism, functionalism, and rational choice theory are all major theoretical perspectives in the sociology of political sociology. Symbolic interactionism, on the other hand, is a theoretical perspective in sociology that focuses on the interaction between individuals and their social environment.

Marxist theory argues that economic class is the primary determinant of political power. According to this theory, the ruling class controls the means of production and uses this power to maintain its dominance over other classes in society.
