The Agricultural Land Ceiling Act, 1972 is the primary law that regulates the acquisition and distribution of agricultural land in India. It aims to prevent the concentration of land ownership in a few hands and to ensure that land is distributed equitably among the rural population.

The maximum limit of agricultural land that an individual can own in India varies from state to state. The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 aims to ensure fair compensation for land acquired by the government, to provide rehabilitation and resettlement assistance to those affected by land acquisition, and to promote transparency in the land acquisition process. The Act seeks to protect the rights of landowners and to ensure that they are not unfairly deprived of their land.

The Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) plays a crucial role in the agricultural land market. It regulates the sale and purchase of agricultural produce, ensures fair prices for agricultural produce, and provides market information to farmers. The APMC also helps to promote orderly marketing of agricultural produce and to protect the interests of both farmers and consumers.
