Hercules was ordered to complete 12 labors as punishment for killing his wife and children in a fit of madness (which Hera had caused). These tasks, given to him by King Eurystheus, included famous feats like slaying the Nemean Lion, capturing the Erymanthian Boar, and cleaning the Augean Stables. Completing all 12 labors earned him immortality and a place among the gods.

Hercules freed Prometheus from his punishment. Prometheus had been chained to a rock as punishment from Zeus for giving fire to humanity. An eagle would eat his liver daily, only for it to regenerate.
