Human Rights and the Law

The UDHR is a non-binding declaration that sets out the fundamental human rights and freedoms that all people are entitled to. It was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948 and has since been endorsed by all member states of the UN.

The future of human rights is uncertain. Human rights will continue to be a major issue in the 21st century, but it is impossible to predict whether they will eventually be achieved for all people or whether they will be eroded in the face of new challenges.
