Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha are half-brothers who share a complicated, hostile relationship throughout most of the series. Sesshoumaru initially despises Inuyasha for being a half-demon and inheriting their father's legendary sword Tessaiga. While their relationship eventually evolves to one of mutual respect, 'fond of each other' misrepresents their dynamic, which begins with open hostility and rivalry.
