Windows 7 and Mobile App Technology

JAR files contain Java ME applications used on Nokia and other feature phones. COD files are specific to BlackBerry devices. APK files are Android application packages. APP files are iOS application bundles used on iPhones.

JavaFX provides modern UI capabilities for mobile applications, and J2ME Polish was a popular framework specifically designed to enhance the appearance and usability of J2ME applications through theming and improved UI components.

KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is the lightweight Java virtual machine designed specifically for J2ME/CLDC devices with limited memory and processing power. It's a subset of the full JVM optimized for constrained environments.

SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) is a standard for connecting and transferring data between computers and peripheral devices, most commonly storage devices like hard drives, tape drives, and optical drives. It's a storage interface standard, not primarily used for network data transfer, keystroke measurement, or picture resolution.

NIC (Network Interface Card) is the standard technical name for a LAN Card. A Network Connector is a physical port, MODEM is a modulation-demodulation device for analog signals, and Internet Card is not a standard networking term.

Home Group feature allows sharing printers across multiple PCs in a home network. House Group, House Network, and Home Network are not standard Windows features for printer sharing.

Windows 7's XP Mode was a virtualized Windows XP environment that allowed legacy XP applications to run seamlessly on Windows 7. It solved compatibility issues for businesses upgrading from Windows XP.

Windows 7 came pre-installed with Windows Media Player 12, which was the latest version at the time. It introduced new features like Play To and improved library management.

Windows 7 minimum requirements were 1GB RAM and 16GB hard disk space for the 32-bit version. The 64-bit version required 2GB RAM but still only 16GB disk space.

Direct upgrades from Windows XP to Windows 7 are not supported. You must perform a clean install, which requires backing up data and reinstalling applications. Upgrade paths were only available from Windows Vista.

Windows Vista requires Service Pack 1 to upgrade to Windows 7. Without this service pack, the upgrade process will fail. Service Pack 2 and 3 are not required as SP1 is the minimum version needed.

Windows 7 was officially released on October 22, 2009. This is the correct release date according to Microsoft's official announcement and general availability. Option C is close but one day off.
