5G Core Network and Components

The 5G Core Network is responsible for providing connectivity between devices, managing network resources, and processing and forwarding user data.

The Network Slice Selection Function (NSSF) is responsible for selecting the appropriate network slice for a given user or application, based on their requirements and the capabilities of the network.

The Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) is responsible for managing the mobility of devices, including tracking their location and updating their network connections as they move.

The Unified Data Management (UDM) is responsible for storing and managing subscriber data, including their identities, subscriptions, and usage information.

The Session Management Function (SMF) is responsible for providing quality of service (QoS) for user data, including prioritizing traffic and managing congestion.

The Authentication Server Function (AUSF) is responsible for authenticating and authorizing users, including verifying their identities and ensuring that they have the necessary permissions to access the network.
