Saudi Arabia has held the world's largest proven petroleum reserves since the 1960s, with approximately 267 billion barrels as of recent estimates. While Venezuela technically has larger reserves if extra-heavy oil is included, Saudi Arabia's conventional crude reserves are the largest and most accessible. Kuwait, Iraq, and UAE all have significant reserves but rank below Saudi Arabia.
