The Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer (ENIAC) was the first general-purpose electronic computer. It was developed by John Atanasoff and Clifford Berry at Iowa State University in 1942.

The Altair 8800 was the first personal computer kit. It was released in 1975 by MITS (Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems).

CompuServe was the first commercial internet service provider. It was founded in 1969 and offered dial-up access to the internet.

The first website was created by Tim Berners-Lee at CERN in 1991. It was a simple text-based website that provided information about the World Wide Web.

Friendster was the first social media platform. It was founded in 2002 and allowed users to create profiles, connect with friends, and share photos and videos.

The Copyright Act of 1976 was the first digital copyright law. It extended copyright protection to digital works, such as computer programs and databases.

Sony Corp. v. Universal City Studios, Inc. was the first case to address the issue of digital copyright infringement. The Supreme Court ruled that Sony was not liable for copyright infringement when its Betamax VCRs were used to record television programs.

Stratton Oakmont, Inc. v. Prodigy Services Co. was the first case to address the issue of online defamation. The court ruled that Prodigy was not liable for defamatory statements posted on its message boards by third parties.

Doe v. MySpace, Inc. was the first case to address the issue of cyberbullying. The court ruled that MySpace was not liable for cyberbullying that occurred on its website.

Kyllo v. United States was the first case to address the issue of digital privacy. The Supreme Court ruled that the use of a thermal imaging device to scan a home without a warrant violated the Fourth Amendment.

Comcast Corp. v. National Association for the Advancement of Colored People was the first case to address the issue of algorithmic bias. The court ruled that Comcast's use of an algorithm to determine the price of its cable services discriminated against African-American customers.

United States v. Jones was the first case to address the issue of digital surveillance. The Supreme Court ruled that the government's use of a GPS tracking device to track a suspect's movements without a warrant violated the Fourth Amendment.

Mathews v. Eldridge was the first case to address the issue of digital due process. The Supreme Court ruled that the government must provide individuals with a hearing before depriving them of a property interest, such as a welfare benefit.

Reno v. ACLU was the first case to address the issue of digital free speech. The Supreme Court ruled that the Communications Decency Act, which prohibited the transmission of indecent material over the internet, violated the First Amendment.

Bush v. Gore was the first case to address the issue of digital voting. The Supreme Court ruled that the Florida Supreme Court's decision to order a manual recount of the votes in the 2000 presidential election violated the Equal Protection Clause.
