The Quit India Movement was launched by Mahatma Gandhi on 8 August 1942 during the All-India Congress Committee session in Bombay. It demanded an end to British rule and gained massive popular support despite brutal repression. 1930 (A) refers to the Civil Disobedience Movement, and 1947 (D) is when India actually gained independence.

India's states were fundamentally reorganized on a linguistic basis in 1956 through the States Reorganisation Act. This followed the successful agitation for the creation of Andhra Pradesh on linguistic lines in 1953, which demonstrated the demand for language-based states. The 1956 reorganization created major states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Kerala based on dominant language groups.

Dr. Zakir Hussain was the first President of India to die in office on 3 May 1969. His death marked a historic moment as it led to V.V. Giri becoming the first acting President. Both Dr. S. Radhakrishnan (C) and Dr. S.D. Sharma (B) completed their full terms, while V.V. Giri (D) later became a full President but was not serving when Hussain died.

Article 370 of the Indian Constitution granted special autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmir, allowing it to have its own constitution and considerable independence over internal matters except defense, communications, and foreign affairs. It was a temporary provision that lasted until 2019 when it was abrogated. Sikkim had Article 371, while Punjab and Assam never had such special provisions.

The Todas are a pastoral tribe who have traditionally lived in the Nilgiri Hills of Tamil Nadu for centuries. They are known for their distinctive culture, dairy-based economy, and unique huts. The Lambadas (A) are found in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, while Santhals (B) are primarily in Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha - both are not native to the Nilgiris.

Goa is India's smallest state by area, covering approximately 3,702 square kilometers. It achieved full statehood in 1987 after being a Union Territory. Before Goa's statehood, Sikkim held the title of smallest state. Kerala (A) and Tripura (D) are both larger than Goa in area.

The International Kite Festival is held annually in Gujarat, particularly in Ahmedabad, every January to mark the festival of Uttarayan. The event attracts kite flyers from around the world and is a major tourist attraction. While Maharashtra (A) has its own kite festivals, it is not home to this international event.

Hyderabad has been famous for pearl trading for centuries and is known as the 'City of Pearls'. The historic Pearl Market near Charminar and the city's tradition of pearl jewelry making attract buyers from across India and abroad. The city's pearl trade flourished under the Nizams and continues to be a major center for precious gems.

Kanha National Park is located in the Maikal range of Satpura hills in Madhya Pradesh. It is one of India's largest tiger reserves and inspired Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book stories. The park is famous for its significant tiger population and diverse wildlife including barasingha (swamp deer) which is successfully conserved here.

Punjab is a landlocked state surrounded by Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan, with no access to the sea. It has land borders on all sides and does not have a coastline. Andhra Pradesh (B), Gujarat (C), and Tamil Nadu (D) all have coastlines along the Bay of Bengal or Arabian Sea.

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are located in the Bay of Bengal, to the east of the Indian mainland. They are closer to Myanmar and Indonesia than to mainland India. The islands form part of India's eastern territory and are strategically important for maritime security. They do not lie to India's north, west, or south.

Palitana is a famous Jain pilgrimage site located in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. The temple complex is situated on Shatrunjaya Hill and is one of the most sacred places for Jains.

Kerala receives the first rains of the southwest monsoon as it makes its initial landfall on the Indian coast. The monsoon typically hits the Kerala coast around June 1st, before progressing to other parts of India.

Hyderabad is called 'Cyberabad' due to its prominence as a major information technology hub in India. The city has numerous IT parks, software companies, and is home to tech giants, earning it this nickname alongside its traditional identity.

Sachin Tendulkar is called the 'Little Master' in recognition of his extraordinary batting skills and immense contribution to cricket. The nickname distinguishes him while also paying tribute to the original 'Little Master' Sunil Gavaskar, though Tendulkar is more commonly associated with this title in modern cricket.

Tripura is surrounded by Bangladesh on three sides (north, south, and west), with only its eastern side connecting to the rest of India through Assam and Mizoram. This unique geography makes it nearly an enclave within Bangladesh.

India's National Emblem features four lions standing back-to-back, carved from the Ashoka Pillar at Sarnath. The lion capital represents power, courage, and confidence, and was adopted as the official emblem of India on January 26, 1950.

The Bharat Ratna is India's highest civilian award, instituted in 1954 to recognize exceptional service in any field of human endeavor. It is awarded by the President of India and has been given to notable figures like Mother Teresa, Amartya Sen, and Sachin Tendulkar.

The Amarnath Cave is located in Jammu and Kashmir, situated in the Himalayas at an altitude of 3,888 meters. It is a Hindu shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva and attracts thousands of pilgrims during the annual Amarnath Yatra.

Kulfi is believed to have been invented during the Mughal era, with references dating back to the 16th century. The Mughals brought the technique of making frozen desserts using ice brought from the Himalayas, and kulfi evolved as a distinct Indian frozen dairy treat.
