Soil Health Card Scheme: A Program to Improve Soil Fertility

The Soil Health Card Scheme was launched in 2015 by the Government of India.

All farmers are eligible for a Soil Health Card, regardless of their size of landholding, type of crops grown, or irrigation status.

Uttar Pradesh has issued the highest number of Soil Health Cards, followed by Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra.

The target of the Soil Health Card Scheme is to issue Soil Health Cards to all farmers in India by 2025.

Soil Health Cards are issued free of cost to farmers.

Farmers can get a Soil Health Card at the nearest agricultural extension office, soil testing laboratory, or Krishi Vigyan Kendra.

A Soil Health Card is valid for two years.
