The Sikh Gurus

Guru Nanak is widely regarded as the founder of Sikhism. He was born in 1469 in the village of Talwandi, now known as Nankana Sahib, in present-day Pakistan.

The central teaching of Sikhism is monotheism, the belief in one God. Sikhs believe that God is the creator of the universe and the source of all life.

There were a total of 10 Sikh Gurus, starting with Guru Nanak and ending with Guru Gobind Singh.

Guru Gobind Singh was the last Sikh Guru. He was born in 1666 and became the Guru at the age of nine after the death of his father, Guru Tegh Bahadur.
