The Bahmani Sultanate

The Bahmani Sultanate was a Muslim sultanate that ruled the Deccan region of India from 1347 to 1527. It was founded by Ala-ud-Din Bahman Shah, a former governor of the Delhi Sultanate. The Bahmani Sultanate reached its peak under Muhammad Shah Bahmani III (1463-1482), who conquered large parts of the Deccan and established a strong and prosperous state. However, after his death, the sultanate began to decline and eventually disintegrated into five smaller sultanates.
