School Personnel

Janitors are typically not considered to be school personnel in the same way that teachers, administrators, and counselors are.

School custodians clean and maintain the school building, ensure the safety of the school building, and perform minor repairs.

School secretaries answer phones and emails, schedule appointments, and maintain student records.

School librarians manage the school library, help students find books and other resources, and teach students how to use the library.

School food service workers prepare and serve food to students, ensure the safety of the food that is served, and follow all health and safety regulations.

School crossing guards help students cross the street safely, ensure the safety of students while they are crossing the street, and follow all traffic laws.

School security guards protect students and staff from harm, enforce school rules and regulations, and investigate crimes and other incidents.

School technology coordinators manage the school's technology infrastructure, provide technical support to teachers and staff, and train teachers and staff on how to use technology in the classroom.
