The Ten Degree Channel is the water body that separates the Andaman Islands from the Nicobar Islands. This channel, approximately 150 km wide, is located at the 10°N latitude and serves as the geographical boundary between the two island groups in the Bay of Bengal. The Palk Strait separates India from Sri Lanka, while the Gulf of Mannar lies between India and Sri Lanka.

Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit made history in 1953 by becoming the first woman to serve as President of the UN General Assembly. She was an Indian diplomat and the sister of Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister. Sarojini Naidu was a poet and freedom fighter, while Sucheta Kriplani was a freedom fighter and later Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Project Tiger was launched on April 1, 1973 at Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand (then part of Uttar Pradesh). The Corbett park was chosen as the launch site because it was one of the few remaining habitats with a viable tiger population at the time. The project has since expanded to 50+ tiger reserves across India.
