Common mitigation strategies for wildfires include creating defensible space around buildings, clearing brush and debris, and installing firebreaks.

This can be done through a risk assessment, which involves examining the site's location, construction, and contents to determine what types of disasters are most likely to occur and what damage they could cause.

Demolishing damaged structures and rebuilding them is not a common recovery effort after a disaster that has impacted a cultural or historical site. In most cases, the goal is to repair and restore the damaged structures, rather than demolish them. This is because cultural and historical sites are often irreplaceable and have significant historical and cultural value.
