Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)

As per the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006, a Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) is defined as an enterprise with an investment in plant and machinery or equipment not exceeding ($200,000).

Export performance is not a criterion for classifying an enterprise as a Micro, Small or Medium Enterprise (MSME) in India. The criteria are investment in plant and machinery or equipment, number of employees, and annual turnover.
