The last Meter Gauge EMU service between Tambaram and Egmore was operated in 2004. This marked the end of the meter gauge era on this route, as Indian railways began converting meter gauge lines to broad gauge (5'6") as part of Project Unigauge. The conversion improved speed, capacity, and connectivity with the broader railway network.

Vayu Vajra is the specialized airport bus service in Bengaluru that connects Kempegowda International Airport with various points in the city. The service operates comfortable air-conditioned buses named after Vayu (wind in Sanskrit) and Vajra (diamond/thunderbolt). Vajra is the general city AC bus service.

Hesaraghatta Lake is a manmade reservoir built on the Arkavathy River to meet the drinking water needs of Bengaluru. Constructed in the 1890s, it was one of the earliest major water supply sources for the city. The Arkavathy River is a tributary of the Kaveri River and originates in the Nandi Hills.

Texas Instruments was the first multinational company to establish operations in Bangalore in 1986, marking the beginning of the city's transformation into India's IT hub. TCS and Infosys are Indian companies, while TESCO entered India much later.
