Cartography and Indian Education

Alexander Cunningham is widely regarded as the father of Indian cartography for his extensive work in surveying and mapping the Indian subcontinent during the 19th century.

The Peutinger Map, also known as the Tabula Peutingeriana, is the oldest surviving map of the Roman Empire and includes parts of India. It was created in the 13th century and is based on earlier Roman maps.
