Role of the Indian Education System in the Indian Freedom Struggle

The British colonial education system in India was designed to create a loyal and subservient Indian elite, train Indians for low-level administrative jobs, and spread Western knowledge and ideas. It was not intended to promote the study of Indian languages and culture.
