The Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 1988

Section 2(c) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 1988 defines 'public servant' as a person who is in the service or pay of the Government or a local authority or a corporation established by or under a Central, State or Provincial Act or a Government company or a society or other body owned or controlled by the Government.

Section 12 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 1988 prescribes imprisonment for a term of not less than three years and a fine of not less than ten thousand rupees for abetment of bribery.
