Kolkata Culture and History

Kolkata was formed in 1692 by merging three villages: Sutanuti, Gobindapur, and Kolkata (originally Kalikata). Job Charnock, an administrator with the British East India Company, is credited with founding the city at this strategic location on the Hooghly River.

Tabaqui is the cowardly jackal who serves as Shere Khan's aide and spy, constantly plotting against Mowgli. The name is spelled Tabaqui in the original text, not Taraqui or Taufikki.

Akela is the wise, elderly leader of the wolf pack who mentors Mowgli and enforces the Law of the Jungle. He is respected by all and plays a crucial role in Mowgli's upbringing.

In Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book stories, Alexander (often called Father Wolf) is the wolf who raises Mowgli after he's found lost in the jungle. He becomes Mowgli's stepfather and protector. The other options are other wolf characters but not the stepfather figure.
