Globalization is the process of increasing interconnectedness and interdependence between countries and peoples through the exchange of goods, services, ideas, and people.

Segregation is the term for the process of cities becoming more segregated in terms of their population.

Rapid urbanization, lack of infrastructure, and poverty and inequality are all challenges facing cities in the developing world. Climate change is a global challenge, not just a challenge facing cities in the developing world.

Sustainability is the term for the process of cities becoming more sustainable.

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving air quality, and reducing poverty and inequality are all goals of sustainable urban development. Promoting economic growth is not a goal of sustainable urban development.

Resilience is the term for the process of cities becoming more resilient to climate change.

Investing in green infrastructure, improving early warning systems, and relocating people away from at-risk areas are all strategies for building resilience to climate change in cities. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is a global strategy for mitigating climate change, not a strategy for building resilience to climate change in cities.

Equity is the term for the process of cities becoming more equitable.

Investing in affordable housing, improving access to education and healthcare, and creating job opportunities for all are all strategies for promoting equity in cities. Gentrifying neighborhoods is not a strategy for promoting equity in cities.

Inclusion is the term for the process of cities becoming more inclusive.

Creating welcoming communities for immigrants and refugees, addressing discrimination and racism, and providing support for people with disabilities are all strategies for promoting inclusion in cities. Gentrifying neighborhoods is not a strategy for promoting inclusion in cities.
