You should seek medical attention for a burn if the burn is larger than 2 inches in diameter, if the burn is deep, if the burn is on the face, hands, feet, or genitals, or if the burn is causing severe pain.

The best way to prevent burns is to be careful around heat sources, wear protective clothing when working with chemicals, be aware of the dangers of electricity, and take other precautions to avoid burns.
