Blocking is not a basic skill in Field Hockey. The basic skills include dribbling, passing, shooting, and tackling.

Reverse stick shot involves hitting the ball with a reverse motion of the stick.

Drag flick is a shot that is taken by dragging the ball towards the goal.

Stickhandling involves dribbling the ball while changing direction quickly.

Striking circle is the area inside the 23-meter line where penalty corners are awarded.
