Geographical Research Data Management in India

The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) is the apex body for promoting and coordinating social science research in India. It provides financial support to researchers, institutions, and projects, and also disseminates research findings through publications, conferences, and workshops.

Increased data security and privacy is not a benefit of effective geographical research data management. Effective data management practices can help to improve data quality and integrity, enhance data accessibility and sharing, and reduce data duplication and redundancy.

The Open Geospatial Data Initiative was launched by the Government of India in 2016 to promote the use of open geospatial data for various purposes, including research, planning, and decision-making. The initiative aims to make geospatial data more accessible and usable by a wider range of users.

The platform aims to make geospatial data more accessible and usable by a wider range of users.

Data sharing and collaboration tools are not a feature of the India Geospatial Data Platform. The platform provides search and discovery tools, data visualization and analysis tools, and data download and export tools.

The Geospatial Agriculture Mission was launched by the Government of India in 2016 to promote the use of geospatial data in agriculture. The mission aims to improve agricultural productivity and sustainability by providing farmers with access to geospatial data and tools.

Increased farmer income is not a benefit of using geospatial data in agriculture. Geospatial data can help to improve crop yield and quality, reduce input costs, and enhance farm management practices, but it does not directly lead to increased farmer income.
