ISRO: Missions, Satellites, and Achievements

ISRO's primary mission is to promote space research and technology in India, with a focus on developing indigenous capabilities in space science, satellite technology, and space applications.

Aryabhata was the first satellite to be launched into space by ISRO. It was named after the renowned Indian astronomer and mathematician Aryabhata and was launched on April 19, 1975.
