Ajantha Mendis from Sri Lanka developed the carrom ball, a unique delivery that grips between thumb and finger and flicks like a carrom puck. The ball can spin in either direction unpredictably, making it difficult for batsmen. While Muralitharan used similar deliveries, Mendis is credited with inventing this specific variation.
