The Marquess of Queensberry Rules, drafted in 1865 by John Chambers, are the foundational rules of modern boxing. They introduced mandatory use of gloves, three-minute rounds, and the ten-count knockout. These rules transformed boxing from bare-knuckle fighting to the modern sport. Archery, athletics, and badminton have their own governing bodies and rule systems, not Queensberry rules.
