UNESCO Heritage Sites in India

The archaeological site of Nalanda Mahavihara (Nalanda University) in Bihar was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016.

The iconic stone wheel of the Konark Sun Temple in Odisha is depicted on the reverse side of the chocolate-brown Rs 10 banknote. This temple is a celebrated UNESCO World Heritage site representing classical Kalinga architecture.
